Alex Hatz update – FM cleared to resume training
by John Nepolitan

After a late summer kidney operation, Fayetteville Manlius star Alex Hatz (photo left winning the 2008 NXN NY regional - photo by John Nepolitan) has been cleared to resume training and racing by his doctors.  FM coach Bill Aris reports in an e-mail that dyestatmetro received this week that Hatz had a follow up visit to his doctor who “feels that the operation was a complete success and that Hatz will have no lingering kidney issues in the future.”

Earlier this week Hatz went for a short run and Aris went on to say that ,  he (Hatz)  was beaming as if he had just won the gold medal in the Olympic marathon.”

Return to racing and training Aris plans to be gradual making sure that “his (Hatz) excitement to have returned does not result in an overuse injury which would set him back even further. Training will be careful, gradual, and progressive to the degree that his body will comfortably allow with minimal risk.”

Aris and Hatz are thinking long term.

Once ready Hatz, will return to races using many early runs as simply a part of training building into the championship part of the season
