ANATOMY OF THE STREAK

Oct. 25, 1973: In the final dual meet of the season, CBA was defeated by Raritan (led by race winner and current Shore Regional coach Mel Ullmeyer), 15-49.  CBA hasn’t lost since.

Sept. 19, 1974: The streak was born with a 15-50 victory over Marist in Lincroft

Oct. 20, 1981: The streak was expected to end at 93, but CBA pulled of a wild tie-breaking victory over heavily favored St. John Vianney in Lincroft.

1982: CBA joined the newly formed Shore Conference A North Division, where it’s faced an easier schedule. CBA has remained in that division ever since.

Oct. 2, 1995: CBA defeates Freehold Township, 15-50, for its 200th consecutive victory to break the NJ state record held by Bernards.

Sept. 28, 2004: CBA defeats Marlboro, 20-43, to tie Blackstone-Millville of Massachusetts for the national record with its 265th straight victory.

Sept. 30, 2004: CBA scores a 15-50 victory over Middletown North in Lincroft for its national record breaking 266th straight dual meet win. Blackstone-Millville held the record for 12 years.

Oct. 3, 2006: Colts Neck’s Brenden Krewer and Craig Forys finish 1-2, but CBA takes next seven spots on the way to a 25-36 victory to extend the streak to 281 in a row at Bucks Mill Park in Colts Neck.

Sept. 21, 2009: CBA extends its national record streak to 300 with wins over Colts Neck (20-43) and Manalapan (15-50) in Lincroft.
