Highlights
- Manalapan NJ sr Robby Andrews blew away the field on the last lap, finishing a 59+ final quarter, to take the boys mile in 4:17.42. Brett Johnson 4:19.61 made it an NJ 1-2 finish and Mark Feigen RI was third in 4:20.43.
- Southern Regional NJ sr Jillian Smith started pulling away in the 3rd 440 and went on to win her 2nd straight Millrose Mile in a US#1 4:51.88. It was the fourth straight win for the Jersey school, two by Smith (4:50.87 in 08) preceded by two from Danielle Tauro, and 4th best ever in this race. Pass Christian MS jr Cory McGee was 2nd for the third straight year in 4:54.59 and Roslyn NY jr Emily Lipari was 3rd in 4:57.70.
- Westlake MD sr Devon Smith ripped a US#1 6.65 to take the Junior 60m dash and move to =#7 all-time
- Albemarle VA took over on the first leg and rolled to victory in invitational boys 4x800, running 7:54.59 to Morris Hills NJ 8:03.31
- Clayton Parros NJ ran a solid race, moving from 4th to 3rd in last 100 and finishing in 1:12.64
- The CHSAA boys 4 x 800 relay may have as much history as any event of the Millrose Games and each year is a highlight. Fordham Prep built up a lead through the middle legs over Farrell and then held off a late charge to once again claim the title.
- Benjamin Cardozo NY took the girls PSAL 4x400 in a very solid 3:57.65, while Newburgh NY boys won the Suburban boy 4x400 in 3:28.84 - each was the best prep 4x4 time of the night in their respective genders.

Mile Fields
One of the highlight events of the Millrose Games at Madsion Square Garden in New York City every year is the Invitational High School Miles. Below are the fields for the 2009 races to be held on Friday January 30th. Headlining the fields will be girls defending champion, Jillian Smith (Southern Regional NJ). and the nation’s fastest returning miler, Brett Johnson (Ocean City NJ).
