1. Newark Valley (4) Section 4 champions, one step closer to repeating as New York State Champions. Using the speed ratings from just the 7 boys on all teams that qualified for next week (except Section X as there were no posted results) Newark Valley wins by 11. It will be interesting to see how accurate this is. Blazey would be 6th, with Birch and Friend in 10, 11 spots. Team took 5 of 10 top spots at sectionals with a 35 sec. time gap. Speed rating 160. (#1 last week)
2. Holland Patent (3) Section 3 champions. It was as close as I had predicted all season, with Holland Patent at 62, Jordan-Elbridge at 62, Tully at 66. Holland Patent takes spots 8-10 in the race with a 17:34 average. Speed rating 159. Only 1 senior in this 7. (#2 last week)

They averaged 17:29 and a 161 speed rating but were done in by the packing of Holland Patents group. They send Stanton and Marrero, both juniors to the meet as individuals. No seniors in the starting 5, they will battle again next year, as HP has only 1 senior in their 5. (#4 last week)
4. Tully (3) Came within 4 points of taking it all. Finished 3rd in section 3 and will send Ohure Sam to the State Championships as an individual, Nate Weber is the alternate. Another team with just 1 senior. Averaged 17:34 and 160 speed rating.(#3 last week)
5. Gowanda (6) Section 6 champions with a 16 point win over last week’s #18 Fredonia with a 155 average speed rating. Nielson and Brown (frosh) go 1-2 at the meet to lead this team to the championship. In scoring model using speed ratings for all teams quailified, Gowanda shows as 3rd place behind NV and HP. (#10 last week)
6. Irvington (1) Section 1 repeat titlists after pulling out a 1 point win over favored Dobbs Ferry at the championships held at Bowdoin Park. A great 1-2 finish by Saliani and Mathews to lead this team. 18:01 average with a 154 speed rating. (#7 last week)
7. Canastota (3) In probably the deepest section for class C teams, Canastota finished 4th and had a 17:55 average with a 153 speed rating. Strong front 2 that beat the front of teams ranked behind them with good support. Sending Argentine and Walker to the state meet. (#9 last week)
8. Dobbs Ferry (1) Missed their trip to the state meet as a team by just 1 point and ran almost exactly as fast as winner Irvington (18:01.04 Irv. Vs. 18:01.09 DF) and speed rating identical (153.6) 154. Season long leaders, Patrick and Brendan Wortner will represent their team at the state meet as individuals, after going 3-4 in the meet.
