Summary: Schulz knew from the gun what the all-time record was and she went for it. The pace for the first 400m was a little modest (65.6) but when Schulz turned on the after burners at 600m (1:38), it was a foregone conclusion that the 2:13.23 by Stephanie Brown of Tri-Valley would be history. Schulz stamped down the homestretch in record time.
