Summary: Everyone thought that pre-meet favorite Pinnick was going to walk away with the win.  However, a rejuvenated Rhone had other plans.  Pinnick got the pole first and through the first 200m in a 26.7.  Rhone was in tow while Pinnick pushed the pace around the turn and on to the backstretch.  Pinnick continue to push but couldn't shake the sophomore Rhone.  Pinnick tried one more time to burst away from Rhone on the homestretch- to Pinnick's dismay a second time she was outleaned for the victory.

Boys summary:
"My goal was to start out good; cruise, and then finish hard", said Eric Oliver of Homewood-Floosmore. Oliver, a junior, did just that as he won in a PR of 49.55. "I couldn't run the 400 for state last year because I hurt my hanstring. Oliver was the only athlete of event to break 50 seconds.
