Larry Atkins of Huntington continues to be the top boys runner in the state, regardless of class. At the Charleston Catholic Invitational he scored an easy win over Ryan Parsons of Williamstown 17:45-18:06. Capital High placed 3 runners in the top ten and it was enough to edge George Washington 97-99. Charleston Catholic’s girls also produced 3 runners in the top 10, led by Annie Schuerger’s 2d place(22:34), and with it the title to their own invitational. The Irish held off Williamstown 42-59. Kayla Lester of Winfield outclassed her competition by winning the individual crown easily in 22:03.
