Megan Johnson of Seattle Prep, State 3A track 1600 meter (1999) and 3200 meter champion (1998, 99) won the girls race by 56 seconds over Jessie Wells of Lakeside. Only two girls, Ann Ramsey of Lakeside H.S. and Stanford (in 1993-96) and Megan Johnson of Prep (1997-99) have won the girls metro championship in the last seven years.   Peter Furia of Lakeside won the boys' championship race.
