Notes:
Not a large meet in terms of numbers, but worth reporting because of the second straight victory by Lauren Bertolini over Kelly Chaplin, and the second time by over a minute.
Bertolini is a freshman at a very small, rural high school in northeastern Vermont. She is a welcome addition to the running scene in a state that in the last two years, has seen its most successful girl distance runners move on to big time college programs:
Sullivan / Stanford, Chaplin / Arizona, Magleri / Boston College, Joy / U Conn
It will be interesting to see how her times will compare to the aforementioned girls when she gets to a big meet on a course that they will have in common.
(Thetford Trail Run and VT X-C State meet on the same course in October)
