Glen Mills School, a perennial indoor and outdoor track power, won their first 

Delaware County Championship. Sophomore Kyle Barnam of Garnet Valley led from 1.5 

until 400 meters from the finish, when Josh Jordan outmuscled a group of four runner 

during the uphill dash for the line.

Teams



Just like the boys race, the girls had a first-time team champion in Archbishop Prendergast. 

Led by senior Tara Johnson's 2nd, the Pandas placed three girls in the top 20. 

Senior Chrissy Boyd of Penncrest, broke a two-person race with Johnson at the 1.5 mile mark, 

bettering her winning margin of 1998 by 45 seconds.
