Nebraska No. 1 ranked Brian Turner was upset by no. 3 Eric Rasmussen at the Grand
Island Invitational. Rasmussen was 2nd this summer in the Jr. Olympic 5,000
running 15:21. A report in the Grand Island newspaper indicated conditions
were very warm. No. 2 ranked Kearney won the meet using mostly JV runners.
Senior Monica Erickson of Kearney held her No. 1 ranking winning by 24
seconds.
