In AAA competition David Altmaier, Pulaski County, remained undefeated
against KY competition by holding off Michael Doran, Louisville Trinity. In
girls AAA, five-time state champion Rachel Sanford, Pulaski County,
recovered from a fall to overtake McKenzie York, Shelby County, at the
finish.
In AA, Jessica Southers, Russell H.S., recovered from an early season
spider-bite to claim a 14 second victory over runner-up Cara Nichols,
Bowling Green. Matt Braun, West Jessamine, cruised to a 19 second victory
on the boys side.
In A, teammates Alex Brey and Will Starks of Kentucky Country Day finished
1-2. In the girls race, Geraldine Smith also of Kentucky Country Day,
turned in the fastest time of the day in holding of Jackie Wagner, Saint
Mary.
