Illinois Sectionals

YORK -  The York Dukes scored the lowest score in York history for a sectional race, scoring 23 points. York went 1-3-4-7-8-15-23.   Don Sage once again set a course record, running the slightly over 3 mile course in 14.26, with W. Chicago's Tim Keller about 25 seconds behind him.   Peter Cioni and Adam Palumbo were 3 and 4 just a second apart and about 10  sec back of Keller. Then came Lyon Township's Brendan Gaffney and Glenbard
South's Micah Van Denend, then York's Peter Stasiulis and Adam Roche  side by side. John Janulis finished 15th and Joe Fisher rounded things out at 23rd.  York ran in flats, as the course went over some rocky road areas and at one point went into a street.  Coach Newton said that no York team has eve scored so low at a sectional meet, and especially one with such a top rank field.

Wheaton North won the girls race, with York second, Glenbard West third and
Glenbard East 4th. Sammi Pollock ran away from Rebecca Mitchell to win;
Delilah Decresscenzo was 3rd .
