6th Kamehameha Invitational

Aloha,

	Just thought that the people on the Mainland would like an update on

the cross country scene here in the islands. Our 6th Annual Invitational

was held on October 2nd at our Kapalama Campus in Honolulu. The

temperature was in the mid to high 80's with high humidity.  The

featured races of the day were the Boys Varsity and the

Girls Open 3.0 Mile.  In Hawaii, the girls run 2 miles except at the

Kamehameha Invitational and the Iolani Invitational. The Boys race was 

tight with Rocklin (CA) pulling it out over Punahou (HI), 

Millikan (CA), and Kamehameha (HI). The girls race was easily won by

Punahou (HI) with Pac-5 pulling out 2nd over Kamehameha (HI) and Iolani

(HI). The girls individual title was won by Victoria Chang of Punahou in

17:13.5. This broke her course record by 1:12! The race was followed by

a traditional Hawaiian feast for the Mainland teams. If you interested
