One of the greatest races in Arizona Track & Field history saw Josh Rohatinsky, 11, UT, rush to a blazing 61.8 last lap to edge Juan Reyes, 11, AZ in a fast field which ran 4:38/4:26 (1600 splits). Alexis Joyce, 10, CO, had the large crowd on its feet with easy wins in11.55 and 23.97. Sara Gorton, 11, AZ, tied the meet record in 4:31.50 (1500m), and Rashun Ross, 12, AZ, closed his high school career in 21.15.

Girls: Nicole Ireland, NV, 14.46 (100H); Alexis Joyce, CO, 11.55, 23.97; Jamese James, OK, 43.57 (100H); Kassie Anderson, UT, 2:13.86; Sara Gorton, AZ, 4:31.50 (1500m); Abbie Miller, NV, 10:44.84 (3200m); Team 4 X 100: 47.33; Team 4 X 400: 3:53.29.

Boys: James Smith, AZ, 14.26 (110H); Cedric Williams, TX, 10.69; Rashun Ross, AZ, 21.15; Matt Adler, AZ, 47.62; Derek Sparks, OK, 1:56.38; Brett Andrus, UT, 3:58.47 (1500m); Josh Rohatinsky, UT, 9:05.18 and Juan Reyes, AZ, 9:05.80 (3200m); Team 4 X 100: OK, 41.53; Team 4 X 400: 3:13+; Team 4 X 800: UT, 7:45.52.
