Columbus Ohio March 13-14, 1999 Nike Indoor ClassicShuttle Hurdle Relay Added2/1/99 -- Nike Indoor Classic Co-Meet Director Jim Spier announced today they would add a Shuttle Hurdle Relay to the NIC program in Columbus. Said Spier, When we started this type meet in 1984 it was to give great athletes and teams the chance to break records. It was Spiers meet in 1983, the Record Assault, that lead to the Pathmark Classic which became the National Scholastic Indoor Championships. Thats what were doing here, offering a super team, Woodrow Wilson (Camden NJ) a chance to break a record, albeit an unofficial one. Wilson coach David Cade was ecstatic when told the event would be added to the program. Thats all we wanted, one more chance. This is great. Mike Byrnes, who along with Tracy Sundlun, are the other two Meet Directors as well as
the founders of the Pathmark Classic, added, If |
