Champion of Champions - Girls

Middletown or Dulaney? Take Your Pick

Since Maryland does not provide an overall team champion on the race course, DyeStat compared the four class champions at Hereford to analyze who was the best team on November 8. Depending on how you figure it, the top team was either Middletown or Dulaney. If you add up individual times, Middletown had the fastest five scorers, 23 seconds (4.75 per runner) better than Dulaney. If you combine all four classes as if they were in one race and then score the resulting ranked list (without elimination for incomplete teams), Dulaney comes out on top with 284 points to 304 for Walter Johnson and 329 for Middletown. Randy Buzzell's time superiority favors Middletown more on time rankings than on conventional position scoring. See Top 144 Girls list for overall rankings - you have to trust DyeStat for the rankings above 144.
