 Highlights:



 Cian Oatts' sprint double (10.9 and 21.7) paced Atholton to the boys

 championship, 123-111 over host Westminster.  Keith Jefferson supported the

  Atholton cause by doubling in the horizontal jumps (21-10.5 and 43-7).

 Mike Merker doubled in the hurdles (15.5 and 41.6) for the runners-up.



 Westminster won the girls trophy over Frederick, 140 to 136.4, with a

 stirring comeback in the final events.  The Owls swept the 200 1-2-3 for a

 24-1 score over Frederick and then won both closing relays to clinch the

 win.  Frederick suffered from reduced participation from Michelle

 Higginbottom, who was recuperating from strep throat, and an injury to

 Mardy Przywarty in the 300 hurdles that left her out of the money.



 Girls star of the meet was Nyjla Littlejohn of Wilde Lake who ran away from

  the competition in the hurdles (14.7 and 48.2).



 The boys 1500 meter run was a cavalry finish won by Justin Ward of

 Frederick in 4:16, followed within 2 seconds by five others.



 Andre McCallum of Frederick raised his area best in the shot put to 52-8.



 Higginbottom took turns with teammate Val Williams by winning the 100

 (12.4), but Williams doubled in the long and triple jumps (16-6.75 and

 37-9.5) and came from third place on the 4x200 anchor leg to give her team

 a relay victory (1:50).
