Western Maryland Prospects in State Meet

Finals and six regionals were held on the old, dusty, slippery hardwood floor at the Fifth Regiment Armory in Baltimore, with a 200-meter flat track. Two regionals were held at Hagerstown Junior College on a 200-meter flat rubberized track. The other regional was held at Wicomico Civic Center in Salisbury on a 176-meter flat hardwood track.

New indoor classifications were used this year. Instead of simply combining 1A and 2A and letting 3A and 4A alone, all four outdoor classes were shuffled into three. Classes 1A and 2A combined as before, but the larger 2A and 3A schools moved up to the next class. See DyeStat school codes for explanation of 3-letter codes used for schools in all tables.
