Messner (Catoctin Jr.) won the 55 meters (7.3), 300 meters (42.2), 500 meters (23.6), and high jump
(5-4), with the 55 and 300 times setting meet records.
Other Catoctin winners were Kris Olsen (Sr.) in the 800 meters (2:32.2), her fourth straight victory
in the MVAL 800; Jana Romlein in the 55 hurdles (8.7); and the 3200 meter relay team (10:34.0).
| Molly Imming (Middletown So.) doubled in the 1600 (5:50.6) and 3200 (12:39.9).
| Natalie Dye (Middletown So.) continued to lead the pack in the inaugural year for girls pole vault with
a leap of 8 feet, her personal best.
| Smithsburg's relay teams were typically good in winning the 800 meter (1:52.8 meet record) and 1600 meter (4:28.8).

Boys Highlights
Walkersville was strong across the board with 8 or more points in 9 of 13 events, led by Sean Allen's double
in the 1600 meters (4:40.8 meet record) and 3200 meters (10:25.9). Other Walkersville winners were Nick Brown
(Sr.) in the 300 meters (37.6), C. Willis (Sr.) in the 800 meters (2:08.0), the 3200 meter relay team
(8:44.0), and Damian Kolbay (Sr.) in the pole vault (12-4).
Randy Hoffman (Smithsburg Sr.) set a meet record of 6.5 in the 55 meters.
| Hunter Cross (North Hagerstown Jr.) won the 55 meter hurdles in meet record 7.6.
| Middletown captured blue ribbons in the 500 meters where Matt Covati (Sr.) was two tenths off the meet
record in 1:10.1; 1600 meter relay (3:43.6); and high jump, where Derek Dye (Jr.) edged Pete Livolsi
(Smithsburg) on fewest misses at 6 feet.
