Walter Johnson's girls laid a claim to number one in Maryland with a powerful team victory, and the River Hill boys edged South Carroll, 55-60.  Walter Johnson scored 40 points, with six runners home before anyone else had 4.  Mt. Hebron was second with 82 points and River Hill a distant third (148).  Lee McDuff of River Hill (19:10) and David Glynn of Walter Johnson (16:09) were unchallenged in the individual races.

For future reference, Walter Johnson also dominated the Girls B (top 2 and 5 of top 10) and Girls C (top 9) races.
