Photos by Bob Deaver Boys A - North Hagerstown boys shaded Middletown, 57-64, reversing a loss at home 10 days ago. The winners were led by Chris Pereschuk 16:12 (right), who finished 12 seconds ahead of Ryan Moore of Middletown. Last year's winner Southern Garrett (142) was third, suffering when their number two runner Eric Rexrode collapsed three times in the last 100 meters. Rexrode, who was running in the top 10, finally crawled over the finish line 32nd. Girls A - Middletown girls trounced a 17-team field with 31 points, grabbing five of the top 10 places. Urbana was a distant second (81). Kari McCarty 18:56 (left) of North Hagerstown handily won this chapter of a 2-year rivalry with Middletown's Randy Buzzell (19:22), with Liz Lowrie of Urbana third (19:40). Girls B - Karen Richmond of Urbana won in 21:51. Boys B - Matt Lynn (18:03) and Matt Harrell (18:08) of Middletown claimed the top two places. |
