Vol Classic - Knoxville

All the action on April 25 was not in Philadelphia, DesMoines, and Arcadia. Down in Tennessee, the Vol Classic brought together athletes from several Southeastern states, and they produced some national class performances.

BOYS - Details - Deep Creek VA topped McEachern GA 63-48 in the team scoring, with Chris Crocker's 13.98 HH time pacing the winners. McEachern swept three relays in top notch times: 41.46, 1:27.14, and 3:17.50. Meanwhile, national indoor sprint champion Casey Combest of Owensboro KY posted 10.42 and 21.36 times for the nation's outdoor sprinters to ponder. Bradsher Wilkins of Orange HS swept the distances in 4:20.03 and 9:14.64. Chris Hoeffer of Cincinnati LaSalle had a 1:55.28.

GIRLS - Details - Cincinnati Colerain was the team winner, 69-52, over Brookhaven behind Allison Zeinner's 3200 meters (10:51.29) and the 4x800 relay team's 9:34.31. Nona Allen of Pope GA continued her good work in the 800 (2:13.98).
