DETAILED RESULTS

Frederick boys held off host Middletown 151-137, and the Middletown girls pulled away from a 5-team pack for a decisive 31-point victory.

BOYS: Keith Jenkins led Frederick with four wins: 100 (10.4), 400  (50.8), LJ (20-7.25), TJ (44-9.75).  Isaac Solomon added a hurdle double (15.1 and 42.1), and Frederick won two relays (44.6 and 1:33.9).    Middletown had double scorers in seven events and won four:  Keith Dochtermann's 200 (22.4), Greg McCormick's HJ (6-3), Reed Saunders' PV (12-6), and the 4x400 relay (3:33).  Erik Necciai of Linganore doubled in the 800 (2:01.8) and 1600 (4:30).  Team Scores:  Frederick 151, Middletown 137, Thomas Johnson 93, Linganore 73, Urbana 70, Walkersville 26, Brunswick 3.

GIRLS: Middletown rolled up 139 points behind 76 points in field events, including double scorers in all six events, and Randy Buzzell's triple in the 800 (2:20.8), 1600 (5:19.6), and 3200 (11:46).  Natalie Dye led the field event assault with wins in the pole vault (10-3 PR) and long jump (15-6.75).    Other Lady Knights' winners were Suzie Turrell in the triple jump (32-9.25) and Megan Marcantonio in the shot put (35-0.5).  All-American Kathy Messner of Catoctin was severely injured (hamstring and hip) and taken to the hospital after landing on her winning high jump.  She did not compete in the rest of the meet and her participation in the upcoming regional and state meets is doubtful.  Team Scores:   Middletown 139, Urbana 108, Frederick 100, Linganore 99, Thomas Johnson 96, Catoctin 10, Walkersville 4.
