Seemingly out of the race at the halfway point, the West Valley girls moved up to challenge Jesuit OR, Carondolet CA, and eventually, Saugus. NW Championship – Teams
that will be competing for a top 10 NTN regional ranking
regardless of region (this race will be seeded).
Division 1 – Teams that will be top 15 in their state.
Division 2 – Teams that will be in the top half of their
league.
Division 3 – Teams that are in the "building" phase.
**All Varsity races are limited to 20 teams
**All JV runners will run according to their grade level |
THE
COURSE: |
The course at Blue Lake Regional
Park is wide-open and picturesque, making for an exciting cross
country experience for both athletes and spectators. The
race course is relatively flat, and utilizes grass throughout
the 5000m. The footing is good over the entire 5000m,
which allows athletes to achieve a desired finishing time. |
AWARDS: |
Awards will be presented, Nike
give-a-ways will be distributed, and a pasta feed will be available
for all athletes and coaches. Trophies will be presented
to the top five teams in all Varsity races, and medals
will be awarded to the top ten individuals in all Varsity races. A
Nike-sponsored Olympic athlete will be in attendance to present
awards throughout the afternoon. This promises to be
a memorable experience for all involved! |
LODGING: |
The Nike/Jim Danner Invitational
has rooms reserved at the Courtyard Marriott (Clackamas Town
Center), which is located within 10-15 minutes of Blue Lake
Park and Portland International Airport. Room rates range
from $79.00 - $89.00, and include a continental breakfast. To

ENTRY INFO: |
All entries are due no
later than Friday, September 15th. Coaches
simply need to e-mail me their possible competing
athletes. Many of you may simply want to send
me your team roster, you do not need to designate Varsity
or JV. The fee for a complete team (both girls and
boys) is $150, and the fee for a team of one gender is $100. Please
make checks payable to: Aloha High School Cross
Country. Entry fee is due by September 15th. |
MEET NOTES: |
Nike/Danner T-shirts will
be sold for $10. A Nike-sponsored Olympic
athlete will be present to sign autographs and present awards. Nike
and Portland Running Company will have a retail tent available
for athletes to purchase running gear. A concession
stand will be open throughout the meet selling programs,
snacks and beverages. |
DIRECTIONS: |
From Portland, take I-84 east to
Fairview. Take exit 14 (207th), and make a left at
the top of the exit onto 207th. Turn right onto Sandy
Blvd.. Proceed to 223rd, and make a left. Drive
to Blue Lake Road and make another left. The Park will
be on your left approximately a half mile down the road.
In order
to enter Blue Lake Park their is a $4 charge for cars and $7
for buses. This fee is imposed and collected by METRO. The
meet does not profit from this fee in any way.
Dogs are not allowed at Blue Lake at any time
throughout the day!!! (METRO rule). |
