Individuals - Boys

Mile - 2-Mile - 200 - 400 - 800 - 55m - 55H -

  • Mile - A top field, most of whom were busy in the just completed cross country season, will vie for the automatic invitation to the Millrose Games mile.
    • Newton North MA sr David Polgar is following in the footsteps of graduated teammate Chris Barnicle, one of last year's distance stars. Polgar ran US#1 4:17.83 in a Boston University all-comers meet 2 weeks ago; he is the only prep under 4:20 so far this season.
    • Greg Kelsey is one of three runners entered from Saratoga Springs NY's Nike Team National cross country champion squad. Kelsey also finished 27th in the Foot Locker national finals. He is joined by teammates Steve Murdock, second in the New York Federation cross country championship and second in the 2005 Nike Indoor Nationals 2-mile (9:11.40), and Greg Kiley. .
    • Guilderland NY jr Brian Rhodes-Devey, New York Federation cross country champion and 25th in the Foot Locker national finals.
    • Msgr. Farrell NY sr Dan Lewis, winner of the Bishop Loughlin 2-mile in US#1 time (9:29.32)
    • Aquinas NY sr Noel Bateman, 24th at the Foot Locker national finals.
    • Christian Brothers NJ sr Chris Horel, leader of the 8th place team at Nike Team Nationals.
  • 400 - St. Peter's NY jr Lionel Williams is the national freshman and sophomore class record holder at 600 meters and is the early US#1 this season in DyeStat Elite for 600 meters at 1:21.24. His 1:19.68 sophomore national record last year is US#6 all time for any class. Williams will be challenged by Catonsville MD sr Garnell Hall, who leads the nation this season at 200 meters (22.36).
  • 200 - A bunch of burners will light up the fastest event at the Armory.
    • US leader Garnell Hall, who was seventh in 22.36 in a MAC open meet at the Armory
    • Old Bridge NJ sr Bryant McCombs, US#1 and National Scholastic Indoor champion on this track last year in the 400m (47.37).
    • Kenneth Talley of Simon Gratz Philadellphia, the national leader at 300m on his Bishop Laughlin win (34.51).
  • 55m - Thomas Walls, of Woodrow Wilson NJ, the national leader on his Bishop Loughlin Games win in 6.42
  • 55H - White Plains NY sr Donovan Haigler and South Shore NY sr Kemar Clarke, 1-2 at the West Point Invitational on Monday in 7.58 and 7.64.
  • PV - Irvington NY brothers Casey and Scott DiCesare bring their high wire act to the Armory again. Casey set an Armory and New York state record of 16-5 at the Holiday Classic Dec. 27, while Scott won the Bishop Loughlin Games.
