Deep Creek VA 1:29.46 text by Pete Cava A disappointing performance at the Virginia state meet may have helped Deep Creek High School (Chesapeake, VA) to a national tile. The purple-clad foursome of Quentin Moore, Konrad Fitzgerald, Ras-I Dowling and Lamar Veale took an early lead here and finished first unchallenged in 1:29.46. “We messed up at state and had a bad day,” said Veale. “We finished last. Today, we were running for respect. We had to prove we still had it.” They did indeed. Deep Creek’s mark was the fastest of the year on a flat track.
