1.Saratoga Springs (NY): defending NTN champ still deep and talented even with two athlete

2.Roxbury (NJ): #2 NE and 9th at NTN has 5 of 7 back.
3.Hilton (NY): 5 of 7 back from #7 NE after extraordinary track season.
4.Suffern (NY): return 5 of 7 and much improved after excellent track season.
5.Shenendehowa (NY): 5 of 7 back from state runner-up team.
6.Msgr. Donovan (NJ): #8 NE loses top runner but next 6 back with more experience.
7.Bethlehem (NY): #3 NE team loses top 2 but still deep with 4 of 7 back and new talent moving up.
8.Bay Shore (NY): #4 NE team loses top 2 but still deep with 4 of 7 back and new talent moving up.
9.Concord-Carlisle (MA): top 6 back from state runner-up team hoping top girl rebounds from injuries.
10.Allentown Cent Cath (PA): 6 of 7 back after excellent track season.
Boys Southeast
1.Jefferson (VA): 4 of 5 back from state 4A winner and #4 SE
2.Holy Trinity (FL): state 1A winner by 50 has several key runners back plus all-state transfer.
3.Brentsville (VA): 6 of 7 back from state 2A champs that had best state meet team time overall.
4.Smiths Station (AL): return 4 all-staters with 16-second spread.
5.Tampa Jesuit (FL): 6 of 7 back from state 2A winner and #6 SE.
6.Mountain Brook (AL): 6 of 7 back from state 3rd-place, with 5 milers from 4:21 to 4:30.
7.Chapel Hill (NC): Return 2-3-5 state 4A finishers, other scorers need to close gap.
8.Hoover (AL): #1 SE team returns 3 all-staters but relying on young talent in rest of lineup.
9.Marist (GA): 5 of 7 back from state 4A winner and #8 SE.

6.Holy Trinity (FL): several key scorers return for #5 SE team.
7.Brentsville (VA): 6 of 7 back for state 2A runner-up, top 4 11:09 to 11:53 for 3200 in track.
8.Lake Braddock (VA): 4 of 7 back for state 3A winner and #4 SE.
9.Morgantown (WV): under-rated state 3A champ has 6 of 7 back plus strong frosh.
10.Roosevelt (MD): state 4A champs return top 3 girls and 4 of 5.
Boys South
1.Flower Mound (TX): all 7 back from #5 SO team.
2.A&M Consolidated (TX): 5 of 7 back from #3 SO team, led by 4:10 miler.
3.The Woodlands (TX): #1 SO rebuilding around 9:10 3200 man, with 5 more under 10:00.
4.Marcus (TX): 6 of 7 back for #8 SO, led by 4:11 miler.
5.Corpus Christi King (TX): 6 of 7 back from #6 SO team.
6.Carroll (TX): lose top 2 but 5 solid runners back.
7.Humble (TX): all 7 back but must adjust to new coach.
8.Kingwood (TX): lose 5 of 7 but improving lineup of 7 solid runners.
9.Cinco Ranch (TX): nation’s #1 track squad returns good distance talent.
10.Fayetteville (AR): 6 runners back from state 5A top 30.
Girls South
1.Carroll (TX): 6 of 7 back including 2 stars for #2 SO team that was 8th at NTN.
2.Kingwood (TX): state 5A winner 7th at NTN has 4 of 7 back and excellent depth after great track season.
3.Marcus (TX): 6 of 7 back for #4 SO team.
4.Keller (TX): 5 of 7 back for #5 SO team.
5.Cedar Park (TX): everyone returns for #7 SO team.
6.The Woodlands (TX): top 3 girls at 10:54 to 11:10 for 3200 plus other talent.
7.Canyon (TX): everyone back from state 3A winner and #10 SO team.
8.Cinco Ranch (TX): all 7 back for #9 SO team.
9.Tupelo (MS): everyone back from state 5A winner that took first four places.
10.Mustang (OK): state 5A winner loses top girl but has next 4 back plus top frosh.
Boys Midwest
1.York (IL): NTN champion returns superior talent, has filled in for senior losses and may be as good as ’04.
2.Northridge (IN): 5 of 7 back for #2 MW and 16th at NTN.
3.Columbus North (IN): 6 of 7 back, much depth, will challenge to regain state supremacy.
4.Palatine (IL): 2 all-staters plus young talent bolster #5 MW squad that hopes to get closer to York.
5.Middletown (OH): loses mile star Jeff See but has 5 scorers back from state Div I winner and #6 MW.
6.Naperville North (IL): Significant talent returns on deep squad that should contend for #2 in Illinois.
7.Fremont (MI): state Div. 2 power has 5 of 6 back and is running in memory of athlete lost in car accident.
8.La Salle (OH): state runner-up and #10 MW has 10 of 13 back.
9.Pinckney (MI): #9 MW team has young, all-soph team back after excellent track season.
10.Arrowhead (WI): 5 of 7 back from state Div. I runner-up.
Girls Midwest
1.Clarkston (MI): #1 MW and #7 Super 25 team has several stars back after outstanding track season.
2.Bowling Green (OH): #2 MW and state Div I winner by 71 has top 5 back.
3.Waukesha West (WI): 6 of 7 back from state Div I winner and #3 MW team, won state track title.
4.Naperville North (IL): 4 of 5 back from #4 MW squad.
5.Valparaiso (IN): 6 of 7 back from state champ and #5 MW team.
6.Mason (OH): #10 NW team has everyone back led by state champ Angela Bizzarri.
7.Colerain (OH): 5 of 7 back for state runner-up and #8 MW team.
8.Indy Cathedral (IN): all 7 back for state 3rd-place team.
9.Carmel (IN): all 7 back for perennial power seeking to regain state title.
10.Rockford (MI): Top talent and excellent depth should return team to state contention.
Boys Heartland
1.Liberty (MO): #1 HL team and #8 Super 25 has 5 of 7 back.
2.Shawnee Mission NW (KS): 5 of 7 back for state champ and #3 HL.
3.Willmar (MN): 10 of 11 back from state 2A runner-up.
4.Yankton (SD): much improved state runner-up with all 4 back from 18:20 4MR.
5.Potosi (MO): 4 of 7 back for state 3A runner-up after excellent track season.
6.Eden Prairie (MN): 4 of 5 back from state 3rd-place team.
7.Fremont (NE): Loses top 2 but next 4 back from #8 HL squad.
8.Rapid City Stevens (SD): 3 of 5 back from state champ and #7 HL, seeks 11th straight state title.
9.Blue Springs (MO): 5 scorers back with hopes of challenging Liberty in state 4A.
10.Cedar Rapids Kennedy (IA): 5 seniors lead experienced team seeking state 4A crown.
Girls Heartland
1.Yankton (SD): #1 HL and #3 at NTN has 6 of 7 back and should cover the loss of superstar Ramsey Kavan.
2.Sioux Falls Roosevelt (SD): 5 of 7 back led by junior Eckert twins for #4 HL team that took 14th at NTN.
3.Iowa City West (IA): 5 of 7 back for state 4A winner and #3 HL team.
4.Lee’s Summit North (MO): 4 of 7 back for state 4A winner and #6 HL team after great track season.
5.Rapid City Stevens (SD): 4 top-20 finishers return for #9 HL team chasing the top 2 in SD.
6.Lakeville (MN): #8 HL team has 5 of 7 back led by NON 2-mile champ Elizabeth Yetzer.
7.Roseville (MN): 5 scorers back with tight pack for #7 HL squad.
8.Iowa City (IA): top 4 back within 20 seconds in state 4A top-25.
9.Minnetonka (MN): state 2A winner and #5 HL has 5 runners back but ground to make up.
10.Marian (NE): state A winner by 50 has 6 of 7 back, and 11 of 12.
Boys Southwest
1.Denver South (CO): state 4A winner by 100 and #5 SW has 6 of 7 back led by national threat Mo Ige.
2.Albuquerque Academy (NM): state winner and #2 SW has 4 top-15 finishers back.
3.American Fork (UT): 8 of 11 back for #7 SW team.
4.Page (AZ): 5 of 7 back plus promising newcomers for state winner and #6 SW.
5.Cherry Creek (CO): 6 of 7 back for #10 SW team.
6.Judge Memorial (UT): state 3A winner by 60 and #8 SW has 4 top-15 finishers back.
7.Mountain View (UT): #1 SW and perennial national power loses 4 of 5 and is rebuilding.
8.Los Alamos (NM): 3 key scorers plus emerging new talent.
9.Gallup (NM): 5 of 7 back with hopes of regaining 5A title.

1.Fremont (UT): state 5A winner, #2 SW and 5th NTN team has everyone back.
2.South Tahoe (CA): NV state 4A winner and #4 SW has 5 of 6 back plus new talent.*
3.Reno (NV): all back plus top frosh as 2-time FL runner-up Marie Lawrence paces team.
4.Park City (UT): state 3A winner and #6 SW returns 4 that placed in state top-11.
5.Fairview (CO): top 3 back plus excellent depth for #8 SW team.
6.Flowing Wells (AZ): 4 of 5 back for state 5A winner and #7 SW team.
7.Rocky Mountain (CO): all 7 back for #10 SW team.
8.Mountain Pointe (AZ): #9 SW team has 1-8-17 state 5A finishers back.
9.Smoky Hill (CO): #1 SW team and NTN runner-up suffers key losses and rebuilds around 2 key returnees.
10.Mountain View (UT): state 4A winner moving to 5A with 6 of 7 back and developing talent

Boys Northwest
1.Mead (WA): NW #1and NTN #3 returns all but first man as dynasty continues.
2.Central Catholic (OR): Returns state champ Kenny Klotz and excellent supporting cast.
3.Jesuit (OR): key scorers back, depth and experience for state winner and NW #2 team.
4.Ferris (WA): state 4A winner over Mead has 3 scorers back and improving talent to fill the gaps.
5.Hermiston (OR): 4 solid runners back, in search of 5th man for #10 NW team.
6.Flathead (MT): everyone back from state 2A winning team.
7.Jackson (WA): 5 of 7 back led by state contender Jeff Helmer.
8.Crater (OR): 2 key scorers but lose next 4 from #6 NW team.
9.South Eugene (OR): loses 5 of 7 from #5 NW but brings back improving talent.
10.Bozeman (MT): state runner-up returns improving young talent after excellent track season.
Girls Northwest
1.Gig Harbor (WA): #4 NW team has everyone back and top 4 runners sub-5:14 for 1600.
2.Jesuit (OR): #3 NW team has 6 of 7 back and new talent moving up.
3.Snohomish (WA): #5 NW team has 6 of 7 back plus top frosh.
4.Flathead (MT): #2 NW team and state 2A winner returns 4 of 7.
5.Billings Sr. (MT): 6 girls back from state runner-up team that was #6 NW.
6.Bellarmine (WA): #1 NW squad loses 4 of 7 but still has good talent and strength down the line.
7.Hermiston (OR): returns 5 scorers that ran 18:55 to 20:51 at state.
8.Jefferson (WA): #9 NW team has 5 of 7 back and excellent depth.
9.Sheldon (OR): #7 NW team has 4 key runners back.
10.South Eugene (OR): 5 solid performers with depth down the line.
Boys California
1.Royal: 4 of 7 back from #1 CA and NTN #4, led by 9:02, 9:27 and 9:28 3200 men.
2.Jesuit (Carmichael): 6 of 7 back for #10 CA team under coaching great Walt Lange.
3.Murrieta Valley: 4 of 5 back with young talent for #6 CA squad.
4.El Toro: 7 of 9 back from #3 CA, no stars, but tight pack.
5.Barstow: all back from team that ran 82:13 at state.
6.Don Lugo: Top veterans plus new talent and possible transfer add up to big promise.
7.Valencia: Four key harriers back for state Div. II contender.
8.Cabrillo: Great 1-2 combo Michael Coe and Colin Hacker lead returning pack of 4.
9.El Rancho: Steadily rising team has depth to make big jump this fall.
10.Dana Hills: Several key runners back, tight pack, for last fall’s #4 CA squad.
Girls California
1.Corona Del Mar: state mile champ Annie St. Geme leads deep team after record-breaking track season.
2.Murrieta Valley: #4 CA team returns 7 of 9 while adding frosh star Kendall Dye.
3.Ventura: #1 CA team loses 3 key runners, returning 5 solid performers, 3 of them rebounding from track injuries.
4.College Park: #8 CA team and state Div II winner has everyone back.
5.Ayala: returns 6 of 7 with tight pack and expects to be healthy after injuries last fall.
6.Thousand Oaks: #3 CA team returns 5 of 7 and boasts top frosh coming in.
7.Buchanan: FL finalist Lauren Sayler leads team with good back-up and talented newcomers.
8.Bishop O’Dowd: great 1-2 punch plus talent down the line to contend in North Coast section.
9.Royal: everyone back for state qualifier looking to eventually match boys’ team success.
10.San Lorenzo Valley: top 3 back and 5 of 7 for #6 CA team with long tradition.
