NTN Heartland Rankings - Sep 17, 2004

The NTN regional rankings are the basis of the NTN team selection process. The top two teams in each region at the end of the season will be invited to compete in the Nike Team Nationals in Portland Dec. 4. The third and fourth place teams in each region are considered for the four national at-large selections.

Marshall has top man Yahya Iman back from St. Cloud and is undefeated with solid times. West Plains takes close 2nd in Memphis Twilight meet with 15:34 3M average. Liberty won its home invite with fast 2M times. Pre-season #1 Des Moines Roosevelt (IA) runs 3rd in Luther meet behind unranked teams. West Plains takes 7 of 11 places and runs 18:08 3M average on fast course at Memphis Twilight meet. Unbeaten Iowa City West wins Luther Inv with 15:18 4k average. Yankton wins hilly Augustana meet but has big spread among scorers.
