NTN Northeast Rankings - Sep 24, 2004

The Nike Team National regional rankings are the basis of the NTN team selection process. The top two teams in each region at the end of the season will be invited to compete in the Nike Team Nationals in Portland Dec. 4. The third and fourth place teams in each region are considered for the four national at-large selections.

Fayetteville dominates another upstate NY invitational with a 16:23 5k average and marvelous 14-second spread. Cedar Cliff is off, while Christian Brothers goes to California and wins De La Salle meet in runaway with 15:58 average for 2.98 miles. Toms River North takes Cherokee Challenge with 10:28 2-mile average in rain. Council Rock North defeats deep field on hilly course in rain to win Briarwood meet in Philly. Nationall #1Saratoga to begin dual meet schedule. Bay Shore off. Bethlehem dominates Guilderland Inv in rain. Champlain unbeaten, awaits this Saturday's Manchester Inv (NH) with several regional powers.
Concord-Carlisle defeats Keene and Amherst in Amherst Inv.
