Boys - Scott Sellers 7-05.25 USR
Already holder of the national sophomore class record, Cinco Ranch Katy TX jr Scott Sellers went all the way to the national record (2.27 meters) this time, breaking the 26-year-old mark of Gail Olsen IL (7-5 in 1978). Sellers only missed once (at 2.25) en route to the record, and then had three good tries at 2.29m (7-6). The US Olympic Trials qualifying standard is 2.28 (7-5.75), and Sellers said he is thinking about entering the Trials if he can make the standard. His big meets outdoors will be the Texas Relays, the Texas State Meet, and the adidas Outdoor Championships (Raleigh).

Girls - Lauren Biscardi 5-8.75
Shoreham Wading River NY jr Lauren Biscardi completed a weekend double of both indoor national meets, having won the NSIC event at the New York Armory on Friday.
Biscardi, who lives 66 miles out Long Island Sound from Manhattan, is undefeated this year, with a season best of 5-9 at both the Bishop Loughlin Games in December and the New York state meet a week ago. |
