Deep Creek VA 41.19

Although a national champion in short relays the last two years, Deep Creek was an unexpected winner from lane 9. The TV commentators ignored them in the pre-race sizeup, and the cameras almost missed them. But the other teams noticed them as they crossed the finish line a clear winner. Also under 42 secondes were Winslow NJ 41.29, DeMatha MD 41.31, Newburgh NY 41.35, Calabar JAM 41.73, and Mullen CO 41.78.
