Tschirhart was second in 4:16.77. Chris Pannone rallied to win a 3-way fight for third in 4:19.72. Dalpiaz led for the first few laps with a 4-way single file lead group consisting of Dalpiaz, Jeremy Zagorski, Brian McCabe and Tschirhart. Tschirhart moved to the front at the end of the sixth lap, but Dalpiaz stuck on his right shoulder until striking quickly on the backstretch of the last lap.
