Katie's
Story
Sensation of the day was homeschooled freshman Katie
Albright, 14, of Wake Forest NC. Katie, who just
started running last summer, had only run one other competitive
cross country race before Foot Locker. She ran in the freshman
race and won in 17:52, five seconds faster than the winner
of the seeded race. "I had fun," Katie
tells Ricky Quintana. There was confusion after the meet
over why the fastest runner of the day was not in the seeded
race. |
