Solid third-place showing minus two varsity five runners who make up their core. #7 Stephen Oliver ran exceptionally well for his first high school race since falling at the 2003 Foot Locker West Regional Cross Country Championships, also missing his entire track season to injury. #26 Chapman was 58th at Oregon State Meet, and has been nursing a sore Achilles tendon this week, running an eight-second PR. Torrey missed three weeks of running in August, also due to sore Achilles, but ran well despite being back for only two weeks (2003 OR #94). Coaches Alberto Salazar and Dave Frank chose to hold out 2003 OR#33 Luke Wiltshire and similar runner, Sam Wotipka, both ill on raceday; will run full strength this week at Stanford.
