Boys-Girls

Boys

1. York, IL - They did not compete this past week.  They were working hard and getting ready for their conference meet this next weekend.

2. Warren Central, IN - Warren Central got a chance to once again go head to head with MW #4 Carmel IN and came out on top once again, this time winning the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference Meet.  Central beat Carmel 35-43 to capture their first ever conference title.  For most of the race Central was down, losing to Carmel at the two mile point.  However, Central finished very strong and ran well enough to take home the top spot.  De'Sean Turner led his team, winning the individual title in 15:32.  It was a great team effort, as Warren Central placed their top four runners in the top seven spots.

Girls

1. Clarkston, MI - Running the Oakland County Invitational (5k, hilly), Clarkston showed that they were the best in their area, as they won the meet placing four in the top ten.  However, they showed some vulnerability, as their fifth runner was 30th overall.  However, Clarkston did run down some of their runners, as they only finished with five scorers in the varsity race.  Clarkston scored 54 points, beating runner-up Rochester by nearly fifty points, while their JV won their race with a mere 19 points, placing their top six in the top eight spots.
2. Jenny Morgan - 18:52
3. Stephanie Morgan - 19:00
9. Lyndsay Smith - 19:44
10. Lisa Sickman - 19:47
30. Jenna Leach - 20:28

2. Waukesha West, WI - Waukesha West competed at the Middleton Invitational (4k, rolling) on Saturday.  This invitational had four seperate races, one for each grade.  Then the way it was scored was by taking the top seven finishes from the combined four races and adding them up.  West easily won, scoring 21 points, outdistancing second place Middleton by 13 points.
Top Times:

Alexa Ahler - 15:47 - Sophomore Race

3. Palatine, IL - Palatine traveled south to the Metamora Invitational and pulled off a close victory.  Results forthcoming.

4. Carmel, IN - They won their tough conference meet this past Wednesday at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, as they put up 50 points to beat second place Lawrence North by only seven points.  Like on the guys side, Carmel's depth showed, as they placed all of their top seven in the top twenty-two spots, which was quite impressive because the conference field was deep, with six of the top twenty ranked teams in the state competing.  The true test comes this week, as they face MW #5 Westfield IN on Tuesday at their sectional and again on Saturday at their regional.  They may not field a full team on Tuesday to rest some of their top runners, but this team is getting stronger by the day, which should provide some good racing in Indiana in the coming weeks.
5. Bridgett Blair - 15:08
6. Lauren Waterman - 15:08
8. Allie McMahon - 15:12
12. Brittany Rutledge - 15:19
19. Kristen Schultz - 15:38
21. Elise Rippe - 15:45
22. Kayla McCurdy - 15:47

5. Westfield, IN - They did not race this past week, as they gear up for two state series races this week, where they will be taking on MW #4 Carmel IN.  On Tuesday they will not be running their full squad, so they can rest some of their top girls for the more important races down the line.

6. Massillon Jackson, OH - They did not compete this past week, resting and preparing for their league meet this coming weekend.

7. Valparaiso, IN - They did not compete this past week, as they prepare for the challenging state series meets ahead.

8. Rockford, MI - At the biggest meet of the weekend in Michigan, Rockford lost to unranked Okemos at the Portage Invitational (5k).  Rockford looked rather unimpressive, as they lost 82-113.  With the return of one of their top three runners, Rockford was expected to be nearly unbeatable the rest of the season, but that was not the case on Saturday.
8. Katie Haines - 18:25
13. Brittany Dixon - 18:48
24. Rachel Wittum - 19:02
27. Emma Crosby - 19:14

54. Andi Owens - 19:59

9. Loveland, OH - Loveland went head to head with previously ranked Bowling Green OH at the Centerville XC Stampede (5k, hilly), and lost in a tight battle.  Bowling Green pulled away in the late stages of the race, to beat Loveland for the team title 70-82.  Four of the top ten ranked teams in Ohio ran in this race, and Bowling Green looked very impressive.  Loveland however will have to go back and re-establish the momentum that they were riding on from some very impressive performances in the past month.
5. Sarah Leeper - 18:45
9. Lauren Beachy - 19:18
16. Shannon Walls - 19:48
17. Erin Bauer - 19:50
