On the girls side the premier race was the Portage Invitational. Three top ten teams were in this race and all of them fared well. MW #9 Rockford MI took home the team title, as they pulled out the narrow victory over MW #7 Goodrich MI 117-118. This was a huge win for Rockford, as they look to head into the state meet with some nice momentum. The return of Rachel Wittum provided a big boost to Rockford as she finished first in the race. MW #6 St. Ursula Academy OH finished a strong third, as they had a great pack but lacked a frontrunner to match up with the other two squads. MW #1 Clarkston MI rolled to an easy victory at the Oakland County Championships, while MW #2 Bowling Green OH continued to dominate Ohio, as they easily won their invitational as well placing their top seven in the top fourteen spots. Clarkston and Bowling Green are insanely dominant this season. On the boys side the premier match-up of the weekend took place in Michigan.
MW #2 Milford MI boys and MW #9 Novi MI went head to head at Oakland County and while Milford won the meet 57-68, Novi still proved they will be a team to keep an eye on as teams enter the home stretch of their seasons. US #1 York IL took the weekend off to prep up for the big meets ahead, while MW #3 Palatine IL and MW #4 Hamilton Southeastern did the same thing.
