1/24: Albright College HS Invite #2:
Summary: Wilson's Tory Toso won two events, taking the 55 Hurdles in 8.9 and clearing 10-00 to win the Pole Vault. Holy Name's Chris Muvdi went 6.5 to win the 55 Dash, while Elizabethtown's Andrew Yehl ran 7.9 to capture the 55 Hurdles. Devan Coon of Schuylkill Valley was a double champ, winning the 55 in 7.4 and the 200 in 26.9. In distance, Exeter's Nick Hilton went 4:52.2 to win the Mile, and 10:17.6 to win the 2-Mile.
1/25: TSTCA Indoor Meet #4 @ University of Pittsburgh:

Summary: To see the deepest throwing field in the state, it's best to be west this season. Center's Allyn Laughlin continued her winning with a throw of 43-10. And three boys were over 53 feet, led by Hempfield's Wes Banks with a heave of 54-09. CJ Clegg, also of Hempfield, threw 53-06, and Riverside's Denes Veres went 53-03.
The Pole Vault also is strong this year. Caitlin Hewitt of Latrobe cleared 11-01 in the girls' competition. Sean Gill, North Allegheny, went over 14-07, with Jared Judon, Laurel Highlands, over at 14-01. Toney Clemons, Valley, won the Long Jump with a leap of 22-03.25, while Gateway's Wumni Fapohunda went 17-03 for the girls' win, with Hewitt taking second with a jump of 16-05.75.
The West Allegheny boys' Sprint Medley team took the Sprint Medley in 3:51.9 (converted to 3:49.4 for meters), on the Pitt track.
1/26: DELCO Boys Indoor Championships @ Glen Mills Schools:

Summary: The Glen Mills throwers are back, big-time. With a one-two-three finish, and season-PRs by the top two, Glen Mills now occupies PA#1, #4 and #7. Robert Williams moved the top mark out to 56-07, and has moved into US#4. Kim Touch improved to 53-05.75. And Nathan Stewart was 3rd on this night with a throw of 52-02.25. He had thrown 52-08.75 two weeks earlier.
Academy Park's Aaron Hunter was a double winner, moving into PA#3 in the Triple Jump with his 45-03 effort, and going 21-07 in the Long Jump. Chichester's Carrington Queen went 7.66 to hold off Ivan Lawrance of Glen Mills (7.89) and Jermain Lowery of Academy Park (7.99). Springfield Delco's Andre Nelson won the 55 in 6.65.
Quick miles from Greg Thomas of Cardinal O'Hara, beating Chris Tilger of Archbishop Carroll, 4:25.64 to 4:26.6.
1/27-28: Bison Open @ Bucknell University:
Summary: Competing in her first-ever Pentathlon, Bradford senior and Nebraska-signee Erin Hannon rode 1st (HJ), 2nd (LJ), 3rd (55H), and 6th (SP) place finishses to a lead, and then survived the 800 with a 14th place to win by 14 points over Kutztown University's Renee Marchand. There were 16 college athletes in the competition. Hannon started with a 3rd place PR of 8.70 in the 55 Hurdles, and followed that up with her 5-08 win (by 6 inches) in the High Jump, a 6th place throw of 29-04 in the Shot Put, a 2nd place leap of 18-01-50 in the Long Jump, and her 14th place 2:51.05 in the 800.
MARKS W/ POINT TOTALS: 55H: 8.70 (862) / HJ: 5-08 (891) / SP: 29-04 (460) / LJ: 18-01.50 (706) / 800: 2:51.05 (453) = 3372 points.

Summary: West Chester Henderson's Rachel Rosenthal, Anne Gregory, Jackie Merrick and Carly Hamond lowered their PA#1 DMR time by over ten seconds, edging Saint Basil Academy at the line, with both teams credited with times of 12:33.6. The marks are a meet record, and bettered the 2003 time of 12:41.11 which had been set by Strath Haven. Henderson also captured the 4x200, going 1:47.5.
North Penn's Steph McDougal also broke a meet record, clearing 11-03 to top the 2003 mark of 10-06 by Pennsbury's Kourtney Marquis and matched a year later by Downingtown East's Melissa Murphy. Karen Shump won the Shot Put again. The Penncrest sophomore threw 42-02.25.
Sophomore Shaniel Chambers of Chester went 2:19.7 to win the 800. Two girls broke a minute in the 400, as junior Alli Diepeveen of William Tennent ran 59.4 to beat Girls' High senior Chanel Tartt-Minor by just two-tenths of a second.
1/27: TFCAGP D1 Indoor Meet #8 Widener University:
Summary: Hatboro-Horsham's Joe Berry set a meet record by clearing 14-00; a six-inch PR; to win the Pole Vault. Brandon Turner Triple-Jumped 44-11, as Central Bucks South's Colin Donnelly covered 21-00.75 in the Long Jump. Conestoga's Duann Clark ran 6.5 to take the 55 Dash, while Norristown's Peter Selby went 7.7 to win the 55 Hurdles.
1/28: TFCAGP D2 Indoor Meet #8 @ Widener University:
Summary: Four meet records were tied or fell on the Widener University track. Jovan Sander of Avon Grove tied Josh Hannum's (Strath Haven) 2002 6.5 for the 55m. Strath Haven went 11:07.1 to eclipse the 11:13.0 Upper Dublin mark from 2002. Zach Malet of Friends' Central ran 52.7 to better the 55.3 set by Upper Dublin's Nehemiah Leary in 2001. And Elliot Rhodes of Germantown Friends, ran 2:03.0 to beat the 2002 2:03.6 run by Strath Haven's Andrew Combs.

Summary: It was Hempfield's night in the ring as their athletes took 1st and 2nd in the girls' competition, and 1st and 3rd in the boys'. Samantha Fetter threw 40-0, with teammate Kim Kanala 2nd at 35-06.50. North Allegheny's Jade Hambrick was 3rd at 35-01. Westin Banks was tops for the boys with a throw of 53.3. Teammate C.J. Clegg was 3rd at 51-02. North Allegheny's Adam Hambrsick threw 51-09.25 for 2nd.
