Northeast Region Summary Girls
Week Ending September 10
By Don Rich

Quote of the week: "They said they were going to win me a cannon, and they did." - Allentown Central Catholic coach Jack Pressman after his girls won the Varsity Group 1 race at the 9/10 Gettysburg Invitational.

Girls Headlines:

Four ranked teams lose their first meet, including NE#4 Suffern NY, to Cornwall at the Wizard Inv; NE#6 Monsignor Donovan NJ, to Jackson NJ at the Saint Dominic's Inv; NE#7 Bethlehem NY, finishing 4th at the Shaker Inv behind NE#5 Shenendehowa NY, the meet winner; and NE#10 Allentown Central Catholic PA, to Easton at the 9/3 Northampton Inv. Central Catholic rebounded on 9/10 to win the Gettysburg Inv.

Teams:

1.Saratoga Springs NY – Defending NTN champs and US#1. League meet 9/13-Shaker, Ballston @ home. First big Invite 9/24 at Great American.

2. Roxbury NY - Opens 9/13 with Morris Knolls NJ @ East Orange. Host Roxbury Invitational on 9/17.

3. Hilton NY - Had 9/8 quad meet vs. Brockport, Batavia, Fairport.
Tri-meet 9/13 vs. W.Irondequoit, E. Rochester. Compete 9/17 at Wildcat Invitational.

4. Suffern NY - Suffern girls lose to unranked Cornwall at Wizard Invitationa, Washingtonville. Suffern was without two girls (McKenna on college visit and a frosh who ran in the Freshman race). If you put Mckenna winning the race and the frosh as their #4 girl right behind the #3 Consiglio, they only beat Cornwall by a very narrow 5.
They next have 7 double duals on 9/13. Host 9/17 Suffern Invitational.
