Liza Lewis, Ashwaubenon senior, made the highest all-time pole vault by a Wisconsin prep female this week. Lewis cleared 12-2 at the Bay Relays in Bay Port on Thursday. Other girls hightlights this week were: Wausau Newman sophomore Kristen Barr ran 12.1 in the 100 meters and 25.1 in the 200 meters. Telena Mackey (Milwaukee Bay View) long jumped 17-11 at the Red Cat Invite.

In boys action: Antonio Freeman continued his hot sprinting this week with a 10.5 and 21.3 double victory at the West Allis Hale Invite. Two more high jumpers inched up to 6-9 - Kyle Stanley (Portage) and Phil Vargas (Monona Grove). Boys 110 meter hurdlers were quick this week as well with Joel Zalweski (Port Washington) at 14.1, Dan Zepplin (Marshfield) 14.42 and Justin Bohler (Janesville Parker) at 14.2. Chris Sande (Marshfield) took over the yearly lead in the 300 hurdles with a 38.99 win at the Monona Grove Invite while Chris Solinsky failed in his bid to break the national record in the 3200 meter run as he ran 8:52.64. In the pole vault, Adam Kaster (Peshtigo) advanced to the list lead with his 14-8 mark made at Crivitz.
