  Wisconsin High School Track and Field

Joe Thomas (Brookfield Central senior and Wisconsin Badger football and track recruit) launched the shot put over 63 feet in two meets this week topped by his 63-6 at the Greater Metro Relays.

Many boy high jumpers inched ever higher led by Antoine Roberts
(Weyerhaeuser) at 6-9 and Kyle Stanley (Portage) at 6-8.

Chris Solinsky continued his string of phenomenal performances as he ran a 4:08.2 1600 meter run at the Madison Memorial Spartan Invite. Bryan Culver (Waukesha South) also posted a top 1600 meter time at 4:19.3.

The top mark this week goes to Derek Stanley of Verona. Stanley, also competing at the Spartan Invite, long jumped 23-8.5. This jump ties Derek at the 6th best all-time by a Wisconsin prep (tying Dan Benson's 1977 mark - Dan is now the track coach at Homestead).

For the girls, Anna Monsen (Stoughton) ran 12.0 in the 100 meters and 25.4 in the 200 meters. Freshman Claire Meduza (Shorewood) ran a 10:58.94 3200 meters at the Tider Invite in Edgerton.
