Ryan Deak suspended
from team
TALLAHASSEE FL 3/6/03 -- Maclay high school coach Gary Droze
confirmed today that Ryan Deak's scratch from this Friday's Jacksonville
Bolles Bulldog Classic was a result of disciplinary action taken
after the Chiles Relays on Tuesday. "Ryan was dismissed for
refusing to run events I instructed him to run," Droze said
in an e-mail this afternoon. Droze added that the dismissal was
indefinite and left the possibility for Deak to return to the team.
Deak, a Foot Locker cross country national finalist, is one of the
leading distance runners in the nation. (Ricky
