Was the course easier or tougher?

Construction at Van Cortlandt Park caused a change in the course this year.  Instead of a straight 800-meter start along Broadway, the races started at the other end and made a complete loop around the flats before turning into the woods.

Emily Jones' winning time of 17:31.1 was the fastest girls time since DyeStat started covering Foot Locker in 1999.  Runner-up Shelby Greany set a 20-second PR at 17:37.7 and qualified for national finals the fourth straight year, but she thought the course was tougher this year.

Solomon Haile was not pushed.  His time of 15:21.9 was in a group of several winning times over the past decade before Donn Cabral set a meet record of 15:09 last year.

Tenth place times this year were in between the fastest and slowest in the past 10 years.
