2006 - Miles are magnificent in 2006 for third straight year.

2006 girls mile G-Mile - Danielle Tauro NJ continued her string of big meet wins (Millrose Games, Penn Relays), winning a blazing fast 3-girl race in 4:39.25 US #5 all time. Jordan Hasay CA had moved in front at the bell, but Tauro blew past her on the far turn. Anne St. Geme CA got up for second in 4:41.57 US#9 all time to Hasay's 4:42.27. at left, Tauro, Hasay and St. Geme at the bell.

B-Mile - Michael Coe CA (right) lost the lead on the last lap and kicked back in the stretch to win over hard charging Ayalew Taye ME 4:08.21 to 4:08.50. The race started sluggishly with a 65-second quarter and then each lap was faster than the one before, finishing in 58.5.

Daryle McNair is SuperDad on Father's day weekend. He sired the winners of both the boys and girls 100 meters: Gabby Mayo and Brendan Banks.

B-DMR Kroy (York IL) ran away from Warwick Valley on the anchor leg to win in 10:00.37 US#11 all time. Jack Bolas anchored in 4:03.7 to bring Chapel Hill NC from far back to fourth.
G-DMR Corona del Mar CA 11:34.65 US#3 all time, Warwick Valley NY 11:36.41 US#4 all time. Corona anchor Anne St. Geme, running about 2 hours after her runner-up finish to Danielle Tauro in the mile, bested Aislinn Ryan in the anchor leg.
Marie Lawrence takes 2k steeple record from Lindsey Ferguson Reno junior 6:35.63 eclipses Lindsey Ferguson's 6:36.05 set earlier this year, passing Ferguson on a barrier with 230 meter to go. Ferguson was second in 6:45.46. Girls Steeple.

Sarah Bowman 4:36.95 outruns Brie Felnagle 4:39.71 in "greatest high school girls mile ever" (the only faster times were run in college or elite races). Bowman is US#3 all time and Felnagle is US#5 all time.

Jeff See 4:04.83 wins star-studded boys mile on last lap surge past Justin Switzer and Craig Miller.

 


Also in 2005 - Mark Matusak and Elizabeth Yetzer win thrilling 2-miles. Clarkston MI girls and Lindsey Ferguson beat national records. Sprint doubles for Alexandria Anderson and J-Mee Samuels. Justin Oliver (400), Kamorean Hayes (SP), Dennis Boone (LJ) and Geena Gall (800) get indoor-outdoor national championship doubles. Arantxa King MA doubles LJ/TJ. Syosset NY boys 4x800 team ends perfect season.


2004 - National records set by Bay Shore NY and West Catholic PA girls.

Bay Shore NY girls 11:33.42 smash national DMR record, with Eureka MO right there. 3 golds for Ted Ginn. Kickers win thrilling miles: Gavin Coombs 4:05.72 over Victor Gras 4:06.39 and Nicole Blood 4:42.40 (US sophomore class record) over Caitlin Chock 4:42.52. Lashawn Merritt doubles 200-400. Sarah Bowman's 2:04.94 is fastest US 800 in 8 years. Jason Richardson 49.79 400H is US#3 all time, but Ginn repeats in 110H. Skyline Dallas girls triple. Shalonda Solomon wins 200. Saline MI boys repeat in great DMR. Erica McLain double includes 44-1.25 MR US#1, one inch from USR. Scott Sellers repeats. Natasha Hastings 52.89. West Catholic girls 3:52.22 for 1600 SMR national record. Shadrack Kiptoo and Sunni Olding win 2 miles. Glenville Cleveland OH boys and Skyline Dallas TX girls dominate.

Nicole Blood fans cheer her great rally to win AOC's "best ever" girls mile. Blood's followers spread themselves
around the entire track so she could always hear someone urging her on. ---

2001 - 406 DyeStat Elite performances, including US records by South Lakes VA (Alan Webb) 9:49.78 DMR and Rockford MI girls 20:24.34 4xMile relay, plus South Lakes boys 7:35.33 4x800, Brendan Christian 10.40 100m, Darold Williamson 46.88 400m, Marc Sylvester 1:48.76 800m, Dathan Ritzenhein 8:44.43 2-mile, Erin Donohue 4:42.96 mile, Anita Siraki 10:12.48 2-mile, Chaunte Howard 6-00.50 HJ, J.W. North Riverside CA girls relay triple, Boys and Girls NY girls relay double.

2000 - Alicia Craig over Shalane Flanagan in the mile. Dathan Ritzenhein and Donald Sage battle in 2-mile run and 4-mile relay. Anita Siraki, Alicia Craig and Sara Bei sweep 2-mile and bond for next phase at Stanford. Southern California boys sweep mile -- Ryan Hall, Ryan Bousquet and Josh Spiker. Northwestern MD doubles in 4x400 and 4x800.

1999 - Two super sophs emerge -- Alan Webb and Dathan Ritzenhein. Alan Webb is second in mile in 4:06.94 (Brendan Mahoney 4:04.78), breaking Jim Ryun's national sophomore class record.. Dathan Ritzenhein wins 2-mile in 9:01.77, with fellow sophs Sean and John John Jefferson 3-4. Erin Donohue 4:48.68 refuses to lose to Sara Gorton in the stretch of the mile. Rockford MI wins both boys and girls DMR. Dead heat in steeple chase between Ian Dobson and Timothy Kelly. Ricardo Moody 13.32 110H is 4th fastest ever. James Graham 50.72 beats Rickey Harris 51.13 in 400H.

1998 - Maryland's Ato Modibo doubles (21.11 and 46.09); Barber twins triple (Melissa 11.71 and 23.94 - Mikele 52.56); Jon Stevens beats Andy Powell in coast-to-coast mile (4:08.63); Ft. Worth O.D. Wyatt goes under 40 seconds and 1:24 again; Jim Autenreith wins pole vault on one jump (16-0.75).
