Saturday Evening Session - Fast 800, hurdles kick it off
  • Catalina Magnet's James Eichberger rips US#2 1:51.55 800 over Desert Vista's John Kline, who improved his PR by a second-plus, but dropped from US#2 to #3 (1:52.33).
  • Chandler jr Larissa Matthews US#2 13.90 100H (+0.2w)
  • Agua Fria sr Cedrique Smith US#3 13.97 110H (+1.3w)
  • Peoria soph Serene Williams 11.76 100 (+0.1)
Saturday's Early Action - Bryce Lamb US#2 24-09 LJ!
  • Hometown fave Bryce Lamb flew 24-09 on his last attempt to thrill his fans and get the win over Will Clay's 24-03.
  • Chandler's own Mackenzie Flannigan turned 58.68 to lead girls 400 prelims, while teammate Markus Wheaton (Chandler AZ jr) led the boys 400 qualifying in 49.21 out of Heat 1. Desert Vista senior star Allante Battle posted a 49.23 to take Heat 5.
  • Leading the boys' 100 qualifying was Miles Disabella (Westwood AZ sr) with a windy 10.84 (+2.6). Close behind was Ryan Milus (Hamilton AZ jr) in a legal 10.85 (+0.2).
  • Serene Williams (Peoria AZ soph) was fastest in the girls 100 heats, dropping a 12.05 (+0.0) to easily win Heat 5.
  • Agua Fria senior Cedrique Smith equaled his US Top 10 time of 14.25 (+0.2) in leading the boys 110H qualifying
  • Larissa Matthews (Chandler AZ jr) led qualifying in the girls 100H with a = US#5 14.30 (nwi) out of Heat 6. Heat 4 winner Samantha Collins (Westwood AZ) was next fastest at 14.79.
Friday Open Highlights
  • Cibola AZ senior Jeremy Barr turned the difficult 400-800 double, winning the shorter distance in 50.92, then following that up with a 2:03.65 winner in the 800
  • Deja Good (Dobson AZ sr) was 6 feet farther than anyone else in the girls' shot put, getting out to a strong 37-05.00.
  • McClintock AZ soph Jacob White burned a 22.14 200 win from heat 7, taking that event by nearly a second.
  • Putting up a nice mark in the open long jump was Matt Holtfrerich (Northwest Christian AZ jr), spanning 20-01.00 for the win.
