4A Boys
Cheyenne Central Senior Brenden Ames will be the star of the show at the Wyoming State Championships. He already owns two state records (Long Jump 23-09 and 110m Hurdles 14.16) and he is in the ball park of two others. He is the top seed in 4 events: 100 (10.87), 200 (22.00), 110H (13.72), and Long Jump 24-2.5. If your at the state meet look out for Ames but don’t blink, he could be done before you can open yor eyes. Laramie Senior Mike Walrath will be looking to double in the 400 (49.20) and 800 (1:56.44). Campbell County, Senior Eric Strand will be doing his best to stop him 400 (49.29) and 800 (1:57.21). Distance ace Brian Pierre (Laramie) will be looking to double in the 1600 (4:22.81) and 3200 (10:02.09) Campbell County senior Taylor Kelting is the favorite in the 3200 with a time of 9:57.39. On the field Justin Gebicki (Cheyenne East) will star in the Pole Vault. His vault of 16-3 is one of the best in the region. Super throw John Belcher of Cheyenne Central is the favorite to double in the Discus (165-1) and Shot Put (58-2.5).

4A Girls
Sprint/Jump Star Emily Moore of Campbell County will be looking for ‘quad gold’ in the 100 (12.81), 200 (25.67), Log Jump (18-3.75), and Triple Jump (38-11).—Carli Blankenship, a Junior from Cody will be looking to double in the 1600 (5:27.18) and 800 (2:15.56) Kelly Walsh Junior Kait Nyffeler will be looking for gold as well in the 800. Her seed time is 2:15.67. Veronica Elseroad-Wall (Kelly Walsh) is the favorite in the 300H (44.24) and 400 (57.59).

3A Boys
Justin Cross of Powell will be looking for a triple in the 100 (11.37), 110 H (14.55) and 300 (39.75). Star Valley High School has a pair of fine harriers who will be looking for gold in the 3A division. Senior Joseph Call is the top seed in the 800 (1:56.86) and Junior Trevor Ricks has the same honor in the 1600 (4:33.92). Ricks 3200 or 10:23.85 is 2nd to Powell’s Dustin McRann who has run 10:21.42.

3A Girls
Sophomore Amber Henry (Mountain View) is the star in 3A. She should win gold in the 400 (57.94), 800 (2:24.36) and (5:37.28). Diana Long of Torrington should take home a Hurdle Double. She has the top seed times in the 100H (15.63) and 300H (44.18).

2A Boys
Lyman Senior Dallen Anderson is the favorite in the High Jump (6-6), 110H (15-08) and Triple Jump (42-4). David Capozzoli (Saratoga) 100 (11.23) 200 (22.93) and Carson Hessenthaler (Lovell) 100 (11.34) 200 (22.80) will duel for the short sprint gold in the 2A division. Super frosh Caleb HerManyHorses of Wyoming Indian is the favorite in the 1600 (4:47.41) and 3200 (10:38.06).

2A Girls
Courtney Shipman, a senior from Saratoga could come home with a state record. Her 2:18.90 in the 800 is within leaninging distance of Emily Higgins 2A SR of 2:18.49. Adria Grubb (10th Saratoga) is the favorite in the 1600 (5:42.71) and 3200 (12:10.91).

1A Boys
