Boys Quick Highlights
  • Ovid-Elsie sr Maverick Darling wins his 3rd straight D3 title with the fastest time of the day and 3rd best ever (both course and meet) with 14:52.
  • MW#2 Pinckney fights off Saline for D1 title, 120-137.  The Pirates also get an individual title from Brian Hankins in 15:26
  • MW#7 Fremont ends Dexter's 6-year winning streak in D2, scoring 105 to the runner-up Dreadnaughts' 138.  Dexter goes 2-3-5, but has its 4th man go down.  Fremont has it's own problems, though, with #1 James Lanciaux struggling with muscle problems in his back and typical #2 Erik Westbrook with severe tendonitis. But Westbrook holds on to lead the way in 9th (team scoring) as Fremont's depth prevails.
  • St. Clair sr Addis Habtewold, who started his soph season 2 years ago looking like he might be the best in the state, won his long-awaited first state title, outkicking Dexter's Bobby Aprill for D2 Individual title, 15:10-15:16
  • Williamston's boys nail down another D3 championship, scoring 63 with Grand Rapids West Catholic 2nd with 89.
  • Potterville takes D4 crown with 144 points; Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart jr Kevin Oblinger crosses line first in 15:49
Girls Quick Highlights
  • Waterford Mott fr Shannon Osika scores best time of the day with a 17:35, four seconds up on Utica jr Audrey Huth's 17:39 in D1 race
  • MW#9 Rochester wins team title in D1 with 108, putting 46 pts between them and runner-up Grand Haven.  They are led by sr Tiffany Abrahamian (5th overall) in 17:49.
  • Gaylord rules both team-wise and individually in D2 as sr Sloan Secord rolls to 17:49 to lead the way, winning by 15 seconds over East Lansing's Maddi Reeves.  The team score found Gaylord 10 points ahead of runner-up Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern, 131-141.
  • For D3 girls, Jackson Lumen Christi (101) used the best depth at 4 and 5 to edge LeRoy Pine River (103) and Williamston (114).  Allendale soph Devan John outkicked defending champ Devyn Ramsey, 18:15-18:16, for the individual title.
  • Grand Rapids Northpointe Christian won D4 with 109 points, 14 ahead of Harbor Springs.  North Muskegon fr Lindsay Neal won in 18:29, 15 seconds up on Concord jr Cayla Nousain.
