Rochester 8:01.24 [2:01.3, 2:02.3, 2:00.2, 1:57.3]; Newton 8:03.19; Winnebago 8:05.19
Summary: A sweet race from beginning to end. Final favorite Rochester was mired in third place much of the race until anchor leg. Jordan Cullen sprinted the last 200 meters and held for the school record finish.

4x100m relay-
Herrin 43.09; Newton 43.45; Jacksonville School for The Deaf 43.47
Summary: Herrin anchor Eric Thompson, fresh off of the long jump, brings back his team 30m out for the victory.

3200m-
Logan Block (Knoxville) 9:24.55; Brian Peterson (Fieldcrest) 9:28.31; Matt Feldhake (Effingham St. Anthony) 9:39.61
Summary: Block and Peterson dueled with Feldhake chasing. Block, a surprise runner this spring, only came into the final with a season mark of 9:46.

Logan Hohl (Orion) 14.48; Garrett Barnas (Bureau Valley) 14.91; Quinn Walker (Hampshire) 15.23
Summary: Hohl in a breeze with his trademark form. Barnas was the only other competitor under 15.00

100m-
Zach Atkins (DuQuoin) 10.88; Brady Hammon (Illini Bluffs) 11.02; Tommie Taylor (Herrin) 11.04
Summary: Atkins over Hammon in an upset. Atkins time was fastest of year.


800m-
Lance Ward (Greenville) 1:55.97; Parker Thompson (Tremont) 1:56.11; Ryan Griffin (Rockford Christian) 1:56.69
Summary: Ward and Thompson ran stride for stride with 200m to go and up the homestretch. Ward was just able to hold off a smooth striding Thompson for the narrow victory.

4x200m relay-
Newton 1:29.31; DuQuoin 1:29.55; Eureka 1:29.93
Summary: Newton came back to win a very close and exciting finish with Levi Richards on the anchor. Three teams under 1:30 made for an exciting finish.

400m-
Brady Hammon (Illini Bluffs) 48.62; Dan Benton (Westmont) 49.23; Jeremy Pflederer (Tremont) 49.93
Summary: Hammon won going away- not really a challenge after 200m. Benton ran a personal best while being gapped between two runners.

300IH-
Cody Wisslead (Scoita) 37.35; Logan Hohl (Orion) 37.38; Ethan Wolff (Altamont) 39.15
Summary: The best ever finish in Class A came down to the last hurdle. Wisslead built up a huge lead until the final three hurdles- that’s when Hohl quickly closed the gap on a tiring Wisslead. Hohl appeared as if he was going to upset the great Wisslead. However, Wisslead had other plans and shifted into another gear and had just enough… for the win.

1600m-
Parker Thompson (Tremont); Roger Pinon (Chicago Quigley) 4:23.09; Colin Mickow (Princeton) 4:25.00
Summary: Thompson won going away after 800m. Pinon held for second place and completed the last ever race for Quigley. Quigley is closing its doors after the school year.

200m-
Brady Hammon (Illini Bluffs) 22.28; Levi Richards (Newton) 22.58; Zack Atkins (DuQuoin) 22.62
Summary: Hammon in a breeze once more- this time over rival Richards.

4x400m-
Eureka 3:23.36- came back on the last leg to preserve the fun victory.

Eric Thompson (Herrin) 6-11; Zac Bochler (Effingham St. Anthony) 6-7
Summary: Thompson won early but asked the bar to be placed at 7-1 but missed mightily on all attempts. He appeared to a little tired from all the 4x1 and long jump.

Discus-
Anthony Ellison (Lebanon) 189-7; Brian Bishop 182-9; Alex Thompson (Winnebago) 165-10
Summary: Ellison set the state record and Bishop was a very close second.

Shot Put-
Joe Long (Herscher) 56-1.5; Jason Crisman (Rushville) 54-8.5; Matt Eader (Frankfort) 53-4
Summary: Long maintained his lead from the preliminaries and held off the chaser Crisman.

Triple jump-
Eric Thompson (Herrin) 45-2.25; Ben Pratt (Macomb) 45-0; Cody Doerflein (DuQuoin) 44-11
Summary: Thompson swept the jumps but it wasn’t as early this time. Thompson won on the next to last jump over a strong and determined Pratt.

Long jump-
Eric Thompson (Herrin) 23-6.5- Thompson won by a foot over a solid field.

Pole vault-
Cody Doerflein (DuQuoin) 15-0- won rather early and went for 16-0 but got close.
