Smith Goes For Back-To-Back And a 4th Straight Title for Southern

Jill Smith has been favored to win every race she’s run on the track for more than a year. Clash of the Titans
When Millrose Games organizers introduced a 4x800-meter relay consisting of  high school teams from New York and New Jersey last year, it was aptly named the Border Clash.  But at least for this year, the race should be renamed the Clash of Titans because that’s exactly what Friday night’s 4x800 will be when the two fastest teams in the nation, Morris Hills of New Jersey and Albemarle of Virginia, square off.  Full Preview

Border Clash 4x800 Field Set
Showdown between US #1 and US#2 on tap for Friday night


The Border Clash Boys 4 x 800 was added to the Millrose Games schedule last year and featured a clash between teams from New York and New Jersey.  This year, teams from New York and New Jersey will be joined by Albemarle (VA) currently the #2 team in the USA.  Coming into the weekend of Jan 24th, Morris Hills (NJ) held the national lead only to be knocked off the top of the US list when Albemarle ran 7:49.88 at the Virginia Tech Invite.  The next day at the New Balance Games in New York, Morris Hills took back the national lead with a 7:46.54 clocking (right, photo by John Nepolitan). The two are part of an 8 team field which includes:

Morris Hills (NJ)
Washington Twp (NJ)
Albemarle (VA)
