DyeStat Weekly US#1s

2009 Outdoor

8/10 - 6 new national leaders in the season's final month, with WDIIs 110H record leading the way and the new throws entries providing some interesting season-end analysis

7/16 - 8 new national leaders in last two weeks, most coming in "Youth"-specific events

6/29 - 16 new US#1s from USATF Juniors, with a lot of windy and junior implement marks included.  Marquise Goodwin, though, tops them all

6/22 - 24 new US#1s from Nike Outdoor Nationals - but none in the field events

6/15 - Nine new US#1s ... but in only five events as Springer and Verzbicas pick up three in one race each

6/8 - The list of new US leaders is up to 17 this week, but with a lot of interesting twists and a killer week for New Jersey

6/1 - The number of new US#1s was just eight this week - will it rise this coming week with state meets in CA and TX, and the Great Southwest on the slate?

5/25 - There were 9 new US#1s last week, but as we get into the post-season, we look at the 2009 record assault.  Who has the best chance to add to the 7 records already set, and who has the best chance for an encore performance?

5/18 - Anna Jelmini's monster 54-04.75 / 190-03 double leads the short list of eight new national leaders this week

5/11 - A dozen new US#1s, with the boys setting the pace with nine overall.  Each of the boys four shortest running events saw a new mark at the top.

5/4 - A lighter week with 10 new US leaders ... and indications that marks aren't always what they seem at first glance ...

4/27 - 22 new US#1s; Penn had 9, including those great 4x8s, but the 3 USR-tying and -setting marks were equally astonishing

4/20 - Things settle down with just 13 new national leaders.  California is the most prolific state so far this season with 25 US#1s

4/13 - Arcadia hits it out of the park with 28 of the 33 new #1s for this weekend.  Several individuals and teams put up multiple marks

4/6 - 16 of the 29 new #1s came from the Texas Relays, including 3 by Long Beach Poly CA

3/30 - 31 new additions this week, with Wyatt and Carter leading the California onslaught of 17 US#1s

3/24 - First outdoor list of 2009 is strong, thanks to great early-season performances in California, Texas, Florida and elsewhere

2009 Indoor

3/23 - (last list until final list in mid-April) Just one change this week - Taylor Burke's 5-11 HJ

3/16 - 35 New #1s!! Not surprisingly, a huge number of new leaders from national meet weekend, with about three-quarters being from NIN.

3/9 - Calm before the storm: With just four new national leaders, it was the lightest week since very early in the season.  But Andrew Springer RI, Emily Lipari NY and Newton South MA girls made sure the list didn't stay stagnant.

3/1 - 9 new #1s, with the VA State Meet and Eastern States providing lots of firepower.  Albemarle VA's 7:44.70 4x8 and WWPN NJ's 10:07.21 were big highlights

2/22 - A monster weekend, with 29 US#1s!  The Kentucky Invite and Simplot were the highest quality meets, with the latter including a US soph mark by Ciarra Brewer (41-06A TJ)

2/15 - A lighter week, with 6 US#1s, but Wayne Davis II NC revised his own 55H mark, getting it down to 7.05.

2/9 - 15 US#1s, with 8 coming from the 12 prep events at New Balance Collegiate.  Robby Andrews NJ - 2:22.28 1k - and Track EC (New Bern) - 3:13.06 4x400 - shattered national records, while the NBC 600 rewrote that event's all-time top five.

2/1 - 11 new US leaders, including two oversized marks, and Devon Smith, Ashton Purvis, and Karimah Shepherd becoming double leaders.

1/25 (1st saved list) - This week's 18 new US#1s included the 3rd and 4th entries from New Bern NC and two revisions of the boys 4x8.
